Log in, Level of Access, Users
Your payments are processed via the AltaPay gateway, which you can manage via the AltaPay Merchant Information Interface (MII).
Only designated users can access this system. This chapter provides information about levels of user access, explains how to log in, change passwords, set up and manage users.
User Categories
To set up access to the MII, the AltaPay Support team needs a list of designated users.
Your e-commerce manager, or whoever is responsible for implementing the project from the merchant side, sends a list of users to the AltaPay Merchant Implementations team before the shop goes live.
When setting up users for the first time, we need the following information:
- Full name of the user
- Email address
We divide users into 7 categories:
- Users who can release and capture transactions and do refunds.
- Users who can see all transactions but who cannot do captures or the like (e.g. bookkeepers).
- Users who should receive notifications about chargebacks.
- Users who should receive notifications about disruption of services.
- Users who should receive invoices from AltaPay.
- Users who should be able to set up and change user accounts.
- API user (not a personal email address).
User access categories
The API user is the user that the webshop uses to communicate with AltaPay’s system. The API email address cannot be a personal email address. It must be an alias that can point to a certain employee if needed. The API address could be altapayapi@[companyname].com.
Please contact us if you have any questions regarding the user access.
Setting Up New Users
You can set up additional users in the system if you have the necessary permissions. Alternatively, contact AltaPay Support.
To set up new users, take the following steps:
- Go to HOME -> Users
- Click “Create new user” (under Active users).
- Complete the details, using the table below to establish the appropriate user permissions.
